WHAT IS FUTOMOMO?

Futomomo in direct translation from Japanese means “thigh”.

In shibari Futomomo means a tie where bent leg is tied tightly, either for floor work or for suspension.

During this workshops I will share with you my knowledge about Futomomos, including:

1) Anatomy of the tie – reasons behind specific constructions

2) Different patterns of futomomo such:

  • diamond futumomo
  • spiral futumomo
  • suspension futumomo
  • improvised – construct your own design

3) How to use futomomo in connection with other floor ties (not for suspension)

4) If time allowes – mid air tied futumomo – partial or full suspension depending on the level of the participants.

This workshopsis dedicated for beginners (with at least minimal knowledge of shibari – single column tie is essential), intermediate and advanced riggers – those who tie themselves, or tie with others, and who previously attended my shibari class or had experience with shibari elsewhere.
